3 Single Site Verification
About This Chapter

The single site verification is a process of checking whether the functions of the equipment on
sites and in cells are normal. The purpose is to ensure the basic functions, such as access,
communication, and handoff, of the cells in the sites before starting RF optimization.

Single site verification helps to isolate problems due to equipment malfunction from the
problems to be solved during network optimization. For example, single site verification helps
to isolate call drop problems and access problems due to equipment malfunction from call drop
problems and access problems due to poor network coverage. Problem isolation helps to identify
and solve the problems and improve the network optimization efficiency.

Also, the single site verification can help the optimization engineers to know the site positions,
site configuration, and the surrounding radio environments in the areas to be optimized. The
single site verification is the basis for the future optimization.

Before starting single site verification, make related engineering parameter tables ready. After
single site verification, write corresponding engineering reports and make corresponding
records.

problem about the engineering installation or equipment functionality exists
in any site. Write out a Single Site Verification Checking table for each site.

Identify and solve equipment functionality problems by project engineers and
product support engineers.



3.4 Preparations for the Single Site Test
Before starting a single site test, make a list of the cells under test ready, check site status, collect
and check data configuration, and select test location.

configuration is consistent with the planned data configuration.

To ensure that the tested services are provided in the test cell, ensure that
the signal strength in the test cell is stronger than the signal strengths in
its neighbor cells.

l Check whether the transmission power of every site is allowed.

l Obtain the IMSI of the test terminal.

l Ensure that the test MS is in project mode or that the AT uses the data
card in project mode, and the MS or AT has adequate power.

l Print the test tables in papers.

l Before starting the site test, collect the information about the test BTS,
including the site location, cell ID, PN code, omnidirectional site or
directional site configuration, and antenna azimuth.
